Community art is artistic activity that is based in a community setting, characterized by interaction or dialogue with the community and often involving a professional artist collaborating with people who may not otherwise engage in the arts
This artwork process is about bringing everyone together in a community attending special events, festivals or mass gatherings by inviting all attendees to "make their mark" on the same canvas with many others marking a point in time / life . Often they are auctioned off at the event or sold afterwards to those who want to support local charities, creative Non-Profits, artists and the local community by donating and exhibiting the final artwork in their business, office or home . Sometimes I retouch them a bit, but they are not solely my personal artworks . I just provide free painting supplies/materials, weekend pop-up and facilitate, invite many people/painters usually creating fascinating themed abstracts over 2-3 days .
The popular, creative, international Llano Earth Art Festival (LEAF) was Cancelled for a few years due to the COVID Pandemic . Many regulars to this Festival are very active professional famous Rock Stackers, Land Artists and Musicians so it was a huge Celebration to come back so strong in 2022 with the most attendees/visitors/tickets sold EVER . So many Costumed adults, children, fairies and Sasquatch visited and painted on this wonderful canvas full of dripping leaf designs .
Each leaf is different . Some leafs are perfect and many others are not, but the are all colorful and REFLECT each artists uniquely personal perspective . Families, Elderly, Youth and Disabled ALL painted together, side by side, talking and sharing for long periods of time both masked and maskless . It was a JOY to participate in this awesome event again and this painting is ALIVE ! It let so many escape into a colorful world and made so many people relaxed and happy . It will never die .

The DOT C2 reflective tape is indicative of so much COVID danger, fear, isolation and it glows to meet hazard . It can be removed to reveal the unpainted black/white leaf design so you can continue growing the painting . When is a painting ever really finished anyway ? A Great opportunity to continue building families, teams, community with this piece again some day ... It can only bloom more each time .
